Uniform Clinical Guidelines
Medical Society of Delaware
The Medical Society of Delaware is pleased to make its Uniform Clinical Guidelines for Asthma, Congestive Heart Failure, Coronary Artery Disease and Diabetes available online here at MSDHub.com. The UCGs were developed by Delaware physicians selected from across the state for their expertise in a particular disease. The goals are to promote best practices in the care and treatment of chronic illnesses, to enhance public health and well-being and to relieve the administrative burdens on physicians of adhering to multiple guidelines depending on a patient's health plan. Not only are the UCGs the first statewide guidelines in the country, but also they are the first to be adopted by all of the state's major managed care organizations -- Aetna, AmeriHealth, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware, Christiana Care Health Plans, and Coventry Healthcare.
